Grain size of elastic sediments is used to measure the depositing energy and for environmental interpretation. There is evidence for the existence of an ancient river in the area. This river enters the Indian Ocean through Jangwani beach. There is no clear trend in grain size variation northwards which is also the direction of longshore transport.en_US
