Abstract: A multi-layered plasma antenna system has been analyzed. The radiation field is calculated for different plasma parameters. It is found that the radiation pattern can be obtained for the frequency ranges, viz. ω < ωpg (gaseous plasma frequency) and ω > ω pg, thus eliminating the blackout problem. It is also found that the direction of the radiation peaks depends strongly on the gaseous plasma density and hence on its frequency ωpg. Thus the direction of the radiation beams can be scanned electronically. The radii of various columns simply affect the amplitude of the radiation peaks but not the direction.
