| Abstract: | Apparent dissociation constants of carbonic acid (K1*, K2*) were determined at atmospheric pressure in estuarine waters of Hugli. Based on the observed results the following relations were found in the temperature range of 5-degrees-C less-than-or-equal-to t less-than-or-equal-to 35-degrees-C and in the salinity range of 0.1 less-than-or-equal-to S less-than-or-equal-to 31.73. pK1* = 5.296-6.617 x 10(-5).S2 + 304.8214 x 1/T - 1.657 x 10(-4) ln T x S, pK2* = 7.4206 - 3.119 x 10(-4).S2 + 602.121 x 1/T-4.215 x 10(-3) ln T x S. These relations were compared with the interpolated equations. |
