The frequency distributions of sudden increases and sharp decreases of types │Ii + 1 - Ii│ ≥ 0·6% and │Ii + 1 - Ii│ 1%. Where i = 1, 2, 3,… 24, of cosmic ray intensity fluctuations observed in the records of world-wide network of neutron monitors arc given. It is shown that the maximum of frequency distributions of sudden increases and sharp decreases have a tendency to appear along the direction of earth-sun line and perpendicular to the direction of interplanetary magnetic field, respectively. It is also shown that the frequency distribution maximum and the total number of sudden increases and sharp decreases do not show any marked rigidity dependence. A possible origin of the cosmic ray intensity fluctuations is discussed.en_US
