| Abstract: | Two theoretical models of D-region are presented: (i) Electron density profiles as a function of diurnal time for low (F10.7 = 70 units) and high (F10.7 = 200 units) solar activity conditions; and (ii) Representative electron density profiles for special events like solar flares, polar cap absorption and solar eclipse. These models have been built on the basis of ion-chemical scheme given by A. P. Mitra and J. N. Rowe [J. atmos. torr. Phys., 34 (1972), 795] in the height range 50-100 km. Profiles are also given of several critical ionospheric parameters such as the effective electron loss coefficient, ratio of negative ions to electrons, the concentrations of water cluster ions and ratio of heavy negative ion to basic negative ion during quiet day and night conditions and disturbed conditions of different types. |
