The results of D- and lower E-region electron density measurements, obtained from ARCAS rockets launched from Thumba, India, in the equinoctial months of March 1968 and March 1970 are presented. The electron density profiles were deduced from absorption measurements on ground-to-rocket radio transmissions propagating transversely to the earth's magnetic field.en_US
