Abstract: The rise-times of SSCs are found to range from 1 to 8 min and the amplitudes from 5 to 100 γ. An inverse relationship (negative correlation) has been obtained between the rise-time and the amplitude of SSCS at Hyderabad, similar to Alibag and Hermanus, but quite different from that observed for Budkov where a direct relationship (positive correlation) has been reported. SSC* events which are very rare at Hyderabad, are observed only during daytime and correspond to prominent events in the equatorial electrojet region. At high-latitude stations like Hartland, Eskdalemuir and Lerwick, SSC*s are observed both during day and night hours. The implications of these observations are examined. The observed association of micro-pulsations with SSCs and SSC*s is also discussed.
