Abstract: Calculation of the electron density profile is done on the basis of the redistribution theory of sporadic E-Iayer. The downward movement of the sequential sporadic E is discussed with the help of the corkscrew mechanism, and the decreasing velocity of the sporadic E peak With decreasing height is attributed to the viscous damping of gravity waves. The condition of formation of sporadic E, i.e. strong irregularities in the E-region, is further investigated in a new way with the availability of recent data of simultaneous wind and electron density profiles.
