| Abstract: | Expressions for attenuation and phase coefficients of electromagnetic waves propagating along the static magnetic field through two-component plasma have been studied. The effect of ions on the propagation characteristics has been discussed. It is shown that the presence of ions can have pronounced effect on the wave propagation near the ion gyrofrequency. The results have been discussed in the light of ionospheric plasma. |
