Several investigators have used the riometric absorption data for deriving the electron-ion collision frequencies and the electron temperatures in the F-region. In the present study the F-region absorption contribution of cosmic radio noise at various latitudes (ranging from about 12o to 55°N) has been utilized to derive the electron temperatures. It is shown that the electron temperatures obtained from the present analysis are in good agreement with those from the in situ measurements.en_US
