Two peak seasons were observed for elongation growth of G. verrucosa with a primary peak in January and February, and a secondary peak in September. All three phases of life cycle of alga were found to occur in nature. Tetrasporic and cystocarpic phases were found almost throughout the year and spermatangial plants were observed only from February to April. Mixed plants with tetrasporangia and cystocarps were also recorded.en_US
