Abstract: Amino acids present in protein hydrolysate and in free state were estimated in Enteromorpha flexuosa and E. tubulosa using 2 dimensional paper chromatographic technique. Aspartic acid is most dominant while tryptophan is least in amount in protein hydrolysate of both the species. beta -Alanine and histidine are respectively dominant in E. flexuosa and E. tubulosa in free form.
