| Abstract: | Protein, lipid and carbohydrate were very low during active spawning period (summer and premonsoon) and high during maturation period (monsoon and postmonsoon) in M. meretrix. Concentration of these components in different age groups was primarily influenced by reproductive cycle and secondary by food availability. |
