Fragments of G. edulis were treated for 12 h with indole acetic acid, gibberellic acid, kinetin, 2, 4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (sodium salt) and maleic hydrazide at concentrations 5 and 10 mg l-1. The treated fragments were propagated vegetatively in the sea at Krusadai Island (Tamil Nadu, India). Among these growth regulators kinetin produced maximum increase of length (32.8%) over control in G. Edulis.en_US
