Three cellulolytic streptomycetes were isolated from the alimentary tract of Barnea birmanica Philippi (Pholadidae: Bivalvia: Mollusca), collected from mangroves at Porto Novo, Tamil Nadu, India, and their morphological, cultural and physiological properties studied. Effects of pH and sodium chloride on the activity of cellulases produced by the 3 isolates suggested the presence of isozymes.en_US
