dc.description.abstractOccurrence of 7 species of euglenoids and 6 species of diatoms causing the formation of coloured patches on the intertidal sand is reported. Daily rhythms expressed in the form of vertical migrations of these organisms into the interstices during high tide periods and emergence during low tide periods and the responses to light in the laboratory are also discussed.en_US
