| Abstract: | Extraction behaviour of palladium(II) and some transition metals like iron(II), copper(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) with methyIpyridylidene-o-aminobenzenethiol (MPABT) in chloroform solution in the pH region 0-5 )s described. The extraction behaviour of cobalt(II) differs from the other divalent metals due to its partial oxidation to the cobalt(III) state. The extracted species are simple ML2 type. The extraction-parameters, effect of pH ½ and the time required to achieve the equilibrium have been studied. |
