| Abstract: | ArylazopyridinepIladium(II) complexes of salicylic acids of the formula [Pa(aap)(O 0)] (3 - 5), where aap = 2-(arylazo)- pyridines and 0 0 = salicyclic acid (SA, a), 3-formylsalicylic acid (3FSA, b), 5-formylsalicylic acid (SFSA, c), sulfosalicylic acid (SFSA, d) and 4-methylsalicy lic acid (4MSA, 3) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV-vis, IHNMR spectra. The complexes have been found to show Iigand- to ligand charge transfer (LLCT) transition in the visible region. The cyclic voltamograms exhibit two successive one electron responses corresponding to N=N reduction. |
