| Abstract: | The single pot reaction between LnCl3 (where Ln = Sm(III), Yb(III), Lu(III)) with sodium pentamethylcyclopentadienide in THF at room temperature yields the product C5Me5LnCI2, and then with 2, 2'-dilithiobiphenyl. TMED adduct at -78°C to give the 9-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl-9-lanthanoidofiuorenes. The compounds have been isolated and characterized by elemental analysis. IR and 1H NMR spectral studies. |
