Synthesis, characterization and redox studies of (dithiocarbamato)- {<i>N</i>( 1)- benzyl-2-(arylazo)imidazole }palladium(ll) perchlorates

Abstract

The ternary complexes [Pd(RaaiCH₂Ph) (S S)] (CIO₄) (4,5) where RaaiCH₂ Ph is <em>N </em>(I) - benzyl - 2 - (arylazo) imidazole, [<em>p</em>-RC₆H₄N=NC₃H₂NN(I)CH₂C₆H₅(2); R = H (<em>a</em>), Me (<em>b</em>), CI (<em>c</em>)] and (S S) = <em>N,N</em>-diethyldithiocarbamate (dedtc) (4) and morpholinedithiocarbamate (mdtc) (5) have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, IR, UV/VIS and ¹H NMR data. Electrochemical studies exhibit azo group reduction.
