Abstract: Equilibrium formation of various complex species of xylenol orange (H6L) with some bivalent metal ions like, Mn(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) at 30±0.1°C and ,µ=0.1 M NaClO4 over a wide range of pH has been studied using potentiometric technique. The proton constants of ligand, also determined by the same method at identical conditions, are found to be ( - log value) 2.42, 3.02, 6.82, 10.22 and 11.02. Percentage of metal ions distributed among various complex species have been examined against the pH values.
