A crystalline compound, 4Na2O-5SrO-16SiO2, has been synthesised by hydrothermal sealed tube reaction using strontium hydroxide hexahydrate. silica, sodium hydroxide and water as-starting materials at -120o C under a pressure of 14lb/ in2 for 28 h. The compound has been characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR, thermal studies and elemental analysis. Density and magnetic studies have also been carried out.en_US
