| Abstract: | A simple, rapid and direct spectrophotometric method using n-amylthioglycolate has been developed for the simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of nickel and palladium. The molar absorptivities are calculated to be 0.45 x 104 I mol-1 cm-1 and 0.73 x 104 l mol-1 cm-1 for nickel and palladium respectively. Various parameters, including the concentration of n-amylthioglycolate, effect of pH and interference by diverse ions have been studied to optimize the simultaneous determination of nickel and palladium in synthetic mixtures and various alloys. |
