| Abstract: | The catalytic activity of heteropolytungstate complexes of the lanthanide elements (La, Pr, Nd,Sm and Gd) has been studied and compared for the oxidation of cyclohexanol to cyclohexanone. Hydrogen peroxide is used as the oxidant. The complexes show comparable catalytic activity. The catalytic reactions are solvent dependent and the activity is enhanced by the presence of solvents. |
