Chromium hexacarbonyl reacts with pyridine-2-thiol (pySH) in refluxing acetonitrile to give the tris chelate complex fac-[Cr(pyS)3] by complete removal of CO groups. The same complex is also obtained when CrCl3.6H2O is refluxed with pySH in ethanol in the presence of sodium ethoxide. The complex has been characterized by IR, PMR, mass spectra and elemental analysis.en_US
