Electrolyte diffusion coefficients of CoCl2, CO(N03)2, MnCl2 and MnSO4 in water have been measured using 60CO2+ and 54Mn2+ as tracers with an open-ended, rapid improved capillary technique without stirring. Nanis analytical solution for non-stirring mode is used for computation of these electrolytes over a concentration range of 10-5-0.25 M at 25 ± 0.10oc. The measured diffusion coefficient values are compared with the theoretical values estimated on the basis of Onsager-Fuoss theory. The experimental diffusion coefficients agree reasonably well at low concentrations. The observed deviations between theoretical and experimental diffusion coefficients at high concentrations are attributed to the occurrence of ion-ion interactions which are not considered while formulatingthe Onsager-Fuoss theory.en_US
