Abstract: The aim of the present study is to investigate the mechanical, thermal and water absorption properties, and to perform dynamic mechanical analysis of jute fibre reinforced epoxy composite. The mechanical properties of the jute composites such as tensile, flexural and impact are investigated in this study. The dynamic mechanical analysis has been done in terms of storage modulus, loss modulus and damping parameter within the temperature range 30° - 200° C. The thermogravimetric analysis is used to measure the weight loss as a function of temperature. Thermal properties such as glass transition temperature, crystallization temperature, decomposition temperature, and enthalpy are obtained from differential scanning calorimetry studies. It is observed that the addition of jute fibre up to 30 wt. % in epoxy matrix increases the mechanical, thermal and water absorption properties.
