| Abstract: | Alumina pillared montmorillonite with basal spacing 19A has been prepared and characterised by XRD, TGA, DTA and titrimetric methods. The d-spacing and thermal stability of the clay increase by pillaring and basic sites appear on the clay sample. The catalytic activity of the pillared clay is compared to acid treated clay in the isomerization of (+)-limonene oxide. |
