| dc.description.abstract | Using the tertiary phosphine chalcogenides, triphenylphosphine oxide(Ph3PO), triphenylphosphine sulphide(Ph3PS) and 1,2-bis( diphenylphosphinyl)- ethane(dpeO2), silver(l) and mercury(II), have been extracted from their binary mixtures with the di- and tri-valent metal ions, Cr(lll), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(ll), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Sn(ll), Pb(II), Mg(ll) and AI(III). With Ph3PO and dpeO2, Fe(III), Cu(II) and Zn(ll) interfere in the extraction of Ag(l) and Hg(II); however, there is no interference with Ph3PS. Ag(l) interferes in the extraction of Hg(II) with all the reagents. | en_US |
