| Abstract: | Isonitrosopropiophenone (HJNPP) is proposed as a new reagent for extraction and spectrophotometric determination of Co(lI). The reagent reacts with Co(ll) to give a yellow coloured complex which can be quantitatively extracted into chloroform at pH 8.0. Molar absorptivity at 355 nm is 2.9466x 103l mol-1 cm-1. Beer's law is obeyed in the range 0.5-7 ppm. The proposed method has been used for analysis of Co(lI) in real samples. |
