| Abstract: | The complexes of the composition Ti(OAr)2.L2 TiCI2(OAr ).L, TiCI(OAr).L2 and Ti(OAr)3.L have been prepared by reacting tetraaryloxo or chloroaryloxo derivatives of titanium(IV), TiCln (OAr)4-n (where n=0 to 3; OAr=OC6H4Bu'-4 or OC6H4OCH3-4) with α-hydroxyaldehydes and ketones viz. benzoin, 2-hydroxyacetophenone and salicylaldehyde in dry benzene. These complexes have been characterised by elemental analyses, molecular weight determinations and IR spectral studies. |
