Abstract: Other than the aesthetic values, orchids, the largest and most diverse group of flowering plants has a broad range of ethnobotanical applications. However, little work has been done on ethnobotanical studies of orchids used by the Khamti community of the North-East India. The present report is an account of the ethnobotanical uses of 4 medicinal orchids, viz., Cymbidiun aloifolium (Linn.) Sw., Cymbidium bicolor Lindl., Eria pannea Lindl., and Dendrobium fimbriatum Hook. among the Khamti community of the Lohit District of Arunachal Pradesh.
