Abstract: Studies of apparent molar volume, sound velocity and viscosity have been made in the solutions of glycine, a-alanine and b-alanine in water + DMSO mixtures (XDMSO = 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20) at 298.15, 303.15, 308.15 and 313.15 K to evaluate apparent molar properties and various acoustic parameters along with solvation numbers, relative viscosity coefficients, relaxation time, relative association and related thermodynamic parameters. The results are discussed in the light of ion-ion and ion-solvent interactions and of structural effects of the solvent in solution.
