Reactions of allyl bromide with β-diketonato carbonyl complexes of rhodium(I)

Abstract

From the interactions of allyl bromide with [Rh(CO)(βdk)(PPh₃)₂], [Rh(CO)(βdk)(EPh₃)] (E =P, As) and [Rh(CO)₂(βdk)](βdk) = β-diketonate) complexes of the type [Rh(βdk) (PPh₃)₂ (π-C₃H₅Br)], [Rh(CO)(βdk)(EPh₃)] (π-C₃H₅Br) and [Rh(CO) (βdk) (π-C₃H₅Br))] have been obtained by the replacement of CO group by allyl bromide. In these complexes, the allyl bromide is π-bonded to the metal. All the complexes have been characterised by elemental analyses, IR, electronic and ¹H NMR data.
