| dc.description.abstract | Manganese(II) catalyses the chromic acid-oxalic acid reaction. The absorbance of the mixture of Cr(VI), oxalate and Mn(II) (at 480 nm) increases with time, reaches a maximum and thereafter decreases with time and this has been shown to be due to the consecutive path-way, A .I C. Dmax is directly proportional to [Cr(VI)]0 ka varies with variation in [Mn(II)]0 and [OX]0 whereas kb is unaffected by variation in [Mn(II)]0. Mechanism of the consecutive pathway has been proposed. | en_US |
