Preeparation and characterization of organotin(IV) complexes with some schiff bases

Abstract

Some trioganotin(IV) complexes with the general formula, Ph₃SnL [where LH =semi- and thiosemi-carbazones of 2-acetylthiophene, 2-acetylfuran and 2-acetylnaphthalene] have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molecular weight, conductivity and infrared, ¹H NMR and ¹³C NMR spectral data. The lR and ¹H NMR spectral data suggest that the ligands act in a monofunctional bidentate manner coordinating through nitrogen and sulphur atoms. A penta-coordinated trigonal-bipyramidal structure is tentatively proposed for the complexes.
