Selective fluorination of tungsten hexacarbonyl by xenon difluoride in genetron, perfluoro 1-methyldecalin, perfluorodimethylcyclohexane, and in anhydrous hydrogen fluoride yields tricarbonyltungsten bifluoride, W(CO3)F2. The orange compound obtained has been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, IR and X-ray powder diffraction data.en_US
