Abstract: Conventional methods for detection of pathogens are less sensitive and more time consuming. Hence, in the present study real time PCR (Q-PCR) based in silico amplification of signature genes prior to bench optimization of the designed Q-PCR assay for quantification of various sepsis causing bacteria were determined. The Q-PCR array was designed to detect and quantify the Gram positive cocci (GPC) and Gram-negative bacilli (GNB) in blood samples of sepsis patients. The specificity of the designed Q-PCR primers were determined by basic local alignment search tools (BLAST) analysis against known bacterial genomes. Hence, the designed array could be used for the early diagnosis of antibiotics resistant bacteria in sepsis patients.
