Abstract: The current study documented and evaluated other uses of wild edible fruit plants in one of the district municipalities of South Africa. Data on indigenous uses of wild edible fruit plants collected through a series of semi-structured interviews with 160 informants is presented. Of the 92 wild edible fruit plant species belonging to 20 different plant families, 27 plant species were reported to have other uses. Other use categories mentioned during the interviews were food, medicinal, beverages, construction, firewood, cosmetic, dye and artifacts.
