| Abstract: | A five coordinate complex, Ni(Me4bpp) (NCS)2 containing the tridentate N-heterocycle, Me4bpp being the methyl derivative of 2,6-bis(pyrazol-1-ylmethyl)pyridine has been synthesised and characterised. The structural characterization of six-coordinate species, [Ni(R4bpp)2]2+ (where R=H or Me) in acetonitrile has been done on the basis of paramagnetically-shifted 1H NMR spectroscopy. Mechanisms of spin-transfer responsible for the observed ligand proton resonances have been propose. |
