Synthesis and spectral investigations on the telluroamine complexes of Co(II & III) and Cu (I & II)

Abstract

The first examples of telluroamine-1-(NMe₂)-2-(TeAr)-4-Me-C₆H₃ (L) (Ar=4-EtO-C₆H₄) complexes of cobalt(III) and copper(II) of the type [Co(L)₂ Br₂]BPh₄ and [Cu(L)₂Br]BPh₄ have been synthesized by air oxidation of mixtures of their anhydrous bromides, ligand and NaBPh₄ in nitromethane. The complexes of cobalt(II) and copper(I) with the ligand have also been synthesized under dinitrogen atmosphere. All these complexes have been characterized by element analyses, molecular weight and molar conductance measurements, magnetic moment and spectral data (ESR, IR, UV-Vis, ¹H and ⁵⁹Co NMR).
