Piperidinium salts of some dithiocarboxylic acids react with organotin(IV) chlorides to yield organotin(IV) dithiocarbamates instead of the expected dithiocarboxylates whereas the potassium salt of carbazic acid with triphenyltin chloride yields bis(triphenyltin)sulphide. The products have been characterised by spectroscopic methods and possible mechanisms of the apparently unusual reactions are proposed.en_US
