| Abstract: | The kinetics of aquation of 1,10-phenanH2[MoCl5( H2O)], (NH4)2[MoCl5(H2O)] and 2,2'-bipyH2[MoCl5( H2O)] have been carried out in DMSO-water spectrophotometrically by stopped flow method. The rate of reaction is found to be pH dependent. Three mechanisms are found to be consistent with the observed kinetic behaviour. The temperature dependence studies and other experimental data are suggestive of associative mechanism. |
