| dc.description.abstract | Effective softness values, related softness parameters and absolute hardness, have been applied to a new series of complexes to explain their certain chemical behaviour and structure. The complexes are adducts formed by the reaction of 1, 1’-bis(thio/selenocyanatomercurio)ferrocene with tetrachlorides of Si(IV), Sn(IV), Ti(IV), Zr(IV) and Hf(IV) in carbo tetrachloride. Hexathiocyanato compounds have also been isolated by reacting 1, 1'-bis(thio/selenocyanatomercurio)ferrocene with K2M(SCN)6 in acetonitrile. Various results obtained from physicochemical studies of the adducts are in conformity with the results derived from effective softness and absolute hardness. | en_US |
