Abstract: The solvent etxtraction of Cd(II) and Pb(II) from HCl, HBr and Hl media using N-n-octylaniline in benzene is described. The effects of acid concentration, extractant, diluent and aqueous to organic phase ratio on the extraction have been investigated. The nature of the probable extracted species has been determined. The effect of several foreign ions on extraction of Cd(II) and Pb(II) has also been investigated.
