Triorganotin derivatives of N-hydroxyphthalimide and N-hydroxysuccinimide have been obtained by the reaction of bis (triorganotin) oxide and the ligands in 1:2 molar ratio. The molecular weight data indicate the monomeric nature of these compounds. The IR and 13C NMR spectral data suggest the absence of coordination from carbonyl group to tin atom. The 119Sn NMR data indicate four coordinated derivatives of these ligands have been obtained by the reactions of organotin moieties and the ligands in 1:1 ratio and they are found to be Polymeric compounds containing Sn-O-Sn bonds. The 119Sn NMR data confirmed the presence of both penta- and hexa-coordinated tin atoms, arising out of intermolecular carbonyl coordination.en_US
