The kinetics of oxidation of glutathione by two poly(pyridyl) iron (III) complexes have been studied in aqueous hydrochloric acid. The reactions are first order each in [oxidants], [reductant] and [H+] in the range 0.25-2.00 mol dm-3. Free radicals take part in the reactions, and a suitable mechanism has been proposed.en_US
