Abstract: A few triphenyltin complexes of arylidineanthranilic acids have been synthesised and characterized on the basis of IR and 119Sn Mossbauer studies. The Mossbauer data of the complexes indicate that the carboxylato-group chelates the tin atom in a cis-trigonal-bipyramidal (cis-SnP3O2) geometry while the two triphenyltin complexes derived from o-(4-dimethylaminobenzalidine) and o-(2-nitrobenzaldine)-benzoic acid adopt meridian-al- trigonal-bipyramidal (mer-SnPh3ON) geometry at tin.
