| Abstract: | Moelywyn-Huggins concept of interactions between the molecular surfaces of the components of a binary mixture [Huggins M L, Polymer, 12 (1971) 389] has been extended to develop an approach reproduces well the molar excess volume VE and molar excess enthalpy HE data of 2-propanone- tribromomethane-n-alkane ternary and their sub-binary mixtures. The ternary VF and HE data, calculated by the present approach, co pare better with their corresponding experimental values the corresponding VE and HE data evaluated for these mixtures by the more involved non-electrolyte associated solution model approach. |
