Abstract: The complex equilibria for the intera tion of Co(II) or Cu(II) with adipilc acid dihydrazide (AADH) or 2-furoic acid hydrazide (FAH) in aqueous dimethylformamide or dioxane media have been studied pH metrically using a non-linear least squ res program, MINIQUAD75. The initial approximate stability constants, stoichiometric coefficients of various species and judging of best-fit chemical Model are based on heuristic approach. The effect of different co-solvents and their contents on the formation of species is explained considering electrostatic, specific solute-solvent and solvent-solvent interactions. The concept of complete equilibrium constant is used to calculate the change in the number of water molecules associated with the formation of complexes.
